JFSRI offers many ways to help by volunteering. You can make a big difference with only a few hours of your time.
Kosher Meals on Wheels Drivers
Drivers are needed in the Cranston/Warwick and Providence/Pawtucket communities to deliver hot kosher meals to homebound elderly or disabled individuals through the JFSRI Kosher Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers can choose to deliver meals on one or more days of the week, Monday through Friday. The commitment is only a few hours. Substitute drivers are also needed to fill in occasionally for our regular volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to help serve meals and to clean up at the Kosher Senior Café in Warwick and Providence. Fridays are especially busy with the celebration of Shabbat, but help is needed Monday through Thursday as well.
LifeLine RI Machine Maintenance
Volunteers are needed statewide to make routine battery changes, exchange help buttons, and pick up equipment from clients who are no longer on the program. Maintenance volunteers can complete the work on their own schedules during a given time period. Training is provided.
Committees and Special Projects
Occasionally we have special projects or administrative work that volunteers can help with. If you have experience in a particular area, you may be able to help us with a project, like writing an article for our newsletter, taking photos at our events, or serving on one of our committees.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 401-331-1244 to discuss your volunteer interests and to hear more about opportunities.
