There are many wonderful volunteer opportunities for you at JFS. You can make a big difference for only a few hours of your time.
Drivers are needed in the Cranston/Warwick and Providence/Pawtucket communities to deliver hot, kosher meals to the homebound elderly or disabled through the Kosher Meals on Wheels program, administered by JFS. Volunteers can choose to deliver meals on a specific day of the week or several days, Monday through Friday. The commitment is only a few hours. Substitute drivers are also needed to fill in occasionally for our regular volunteers.
Fridays are especially busy at the Meal Sites, as Shabbat is celebrated. Volunteers are needed to help serve meals and to clean up. Help is needed Monday through Thursday as well.
Volunteers are needed statewide to make routine battery changes, exchange help buttons and pick up equipment from clients who are no longer on the program. Maintenance volunteers can complete the work on their own schedules during a given time period. Training is provided.
Occasionally we have office work and special projects that could use volunteer help. If you have experience in a particular area, there may be a place for you on one of our committees.
Please email us at volunteer@jfsri.org or call 401.331.1244 for information about these volunteer opportunities and others.
